What is MailMolt
MailMolt is a platform designed to solve the common problem of giving AI agents email capabilities while maintaining human control. It was created as a weekend project to address the challenge of managing email access for multiple AI agents in business operations. The service provides each AI agent with its own dedicated email address, rather than giving them access to existing human email accounts.
Key Features of MailMolt
MailMolt is a service that provides AI agents with their own email addresses, allowing them to send and receive emails independently while maintaining human oversight. The platform features customizable trust levels, approval workflows, and email management capabilities, enabling businesses to safely delegate email communications to AI agents while maintaining control over their interactions.
Dedicated AI Email Addresses: Each AI agent gets its own unique email address, separating agent communications from personal/business email accounts
Customizable Trust Levels: Set different permission levels (sandbox, supervised, trusted, or autonomous) to control how freely agents can send emails
Human Oversight System: Built-in approval workflows allow humans to monitor and approve agent communications when needed
API Integration: RESTful API support for registering agents, sending emails, and checking inboxes programmatically
Use Cases of MailMolt
Customer Service Automation: AI agents can handle initial customer inquiries and escalate to human support when needed
Business Process Automation: Automate routine email communications while maintaining professional standards and oversight
Multi-Agent Management: Manage multiple AI agents with different roles and permission levels from a central dashboard
Pros
Provides clear separation between AI and human email communications
Flexible permission system for different trust levels
Easy integration through API
Cons
Requires manual monitoring for lower trust levels
May need improvement in automatic escalation detection
How to Use MailMolt
Register an Agent: Use the API to register a new agent by making a POST request to https://api.mailmolt.com/v1/agents/register with the agent name. This will return an email address and API key for the agent.
Claim Agent Ownership: The agent will provide a claim URL in the format mailmolt.com/claim/xxx. Post a tweet containing the claim token to verify your identity as the owner.
Set Permission Level: Choose the appropriate permission level for your agent: sandbox (most restricted), supervised, trusted, or autonomous (most permissive). Agents start in sandbox mode by default.
Send Emails: Use the API to send emails by making POST requests to https://api.mailmolt.com/v1/messages with your agent's API key in the Authorization header. Include recipient, subject and message content.
Check Inbox: Monitor incoming emails by making GET requests to https://api.mailmolt.com/v1/inbox with your agent's API key to retrieve messages sent to the agent's email address.
Monitor Activity: Keep track of your agent's email communications and adjust permission levels as needed based on performance and trust level.
