What is Superset

Superset is a desktop application designed for the AI era that serves as a command center for orchestrating multiple coding agents. It allows developers to run various AI assistants like Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex, and other CLI-based coding tools simultaneously, with each agent working in its own isolated environment. The application is built to enhance development productivity by enabling parallel execution of multiple coding tasks while maintaining clean separation between different workspaces.

Key Features of Superset

Superset is a desktop application that enables developers to run multiple AI coding agents (like Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex, etc.) in parallel within isolated Git worktrees. It provides a unified command center for managing multiple coding tasks simultaneously, with features like integrated terminal sessions, real-time monitoring, diff viewing, and seamless IDE integration. The platform ensures each agent works in its own environment without interfering with others, while offering comprehensive tools for code review, branch management, and team collaboration.
Parallel Agent Execution: Run 10+ AI coding agents simultaneously in isolated environments, allowing work on multiple tasks like feature development, bug fixes, and code refactoring without interference
Git Worktree Integration: Creates isolated environments for each task using Git worktrees, ensuring organized workspaces and preventing merge conflicts between parallel work streams
Universal Agent Compatibility: Works with any CLI-based coding agent including Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex, and others, allowing seamless switching between different AI assistants
Integrated Development Environment: Features built-in terminal sessions, diff viewer, and one-click integration with popular IDEs like VS Code, Cursor, Xcode, and JetBrains products

Use Cases of Superset

Solo Developer Productivity: Enable individual developers to work on multiple features simultaneously by delegating different tasks to various AI agents
Team Collaboration: Facilitate team development by providing isolated environments for different team members while maintaining code organization and preventing conflicts
Code Maintenance: Efficiently handle multiple maintenance tasks like bug fixes, refactoring, and documentation updates by running parallel agents for different aspects

Pros

Highly flexible with support for any CLI-based coding agent
Excellent isolation between parallel tasks through Git worktrees
Seamless integration with existing development tools and workflows

Cons

Currently only available for macOS
May require significant system resources to run multiple agents

How to Use Superset

Download and Install: Download Superset for macOS from the official website (https://superset.sh) or GitHub releases. Currently only available for macOS, with Windows and Linux versions coming soon.
Create New Workspace: Open Superset and click 'New Workspace' to create an isolated development environment. Each workspace gets its own Git worktree and dedicated ports.
Choose AI Agent: Select which AI coding agent you want to use - Superset supports Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex, Cursor Agent, and other CLI-based coding tools. You can run multiple agents in parallel.
Configure Setup Scripts: Create setup.sh and teardown.sh scripts in .superset/config.json to automate workspace initialization and cleanup. These scripts run when creating/destroying workspaces.
Start Coding: Begin coding with your chosen AI agent. Changes are isolated in separate Git worktrees to avoid conflicts. Use ⌘T to quickly open new agent terminals.
Review Changes: Use the built-in diff viewer to review code changes. Each agent's changes are kept separate until you're ready to merge them.
Open in IDE: Click the 'Open in' button to open the workspace in your preferred IDE (VS Code, Cursor, Xcode, JetBrains IDEs etc). Superset integrates with most popular editors.
Manage Multiple Tasks: Create new workspaces for different tasks. Superset allows running 10+ parallel coding agents across different features/bugs simultaneously.
Customize Settings: Configure keyboard shortcuts, themes and other preferences via Settings. All shortcuts can be customized using Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts (⌘/).
