What is Prosed
Prosed is a content-to-book publishing product built for creators and aspiring authors who already have ideas scattered across platforms or files but struggle to assemble them into a finished book. Instead of generating a generic draft from a single prompt, Prosed focuses on restructuring your real material into a coherent manuscript that reads like a book—complete with chapters, connective transitions, and consistent voice. It’s positioned as a lightweight, fast alternative to traditional ghostwriting and a more guided process than DIY use of general-purpose AI tools, with exports designed for actual publishing workflows (DOCX, PDF, ePub).
Key Features of Prosed
Prosed is a content-to-book publishing pipeline for creators and aspiring authors that turns existing material (newsletters, podcasts, videos, posts, transcripts, notes) into a structured, publish-ready nonfiction manuscript. It ingests content from links or uploads, restructures it using a multi-stage system modeled on patterns from 150+ bestselling nonfiction books, and lets the author shape chapters in a private portal with comments and rewrite requests. It also includes an AI editorial reviewer (“Typo”) that checks grammar, voice consistency, flow, and cohesion, and supports export to common publishing formats (PDF, DOCX, ePub) for distribution (e.g., Amazon).
Content ingestion from links and files: Pulls material from sources like Substack, YouTube, LinkedIn, podcasts (RSS), and also accepts transcripts, notes, and media uploads—then transcribes when needed.
The Inkwell multi-stage manuscript assembly: A proprietary pipeline that restructures and connects your existing content into a complete manuscript, adding connective tissue so it reads like a coherent book rather than a stitched-together draft.
Private chapter-by-chapter editing portal: Provides a clean reader experience where you can review every chapter, leave comments, direct edits, and request revisions in a structured workflow.
Typo AI editorial review: Built-in reviewer that flags issues in grammar, voice consistency, story flow, chapter cohesion, and brand alignment, with feedback linked to exact passages.
Voice matching via creative brief: Captures tone, preferred phrases, avoid-list, and style inspirations to keep the manuscript aligned with the author’s voice across chapters.
Publishing-ready exports and formatting: Exports a print-ready manuscript as PDF, DOCX, or ePub for self-publishing or direct-to-audience distribution.
Use Cases of Prosed
Newsletter-to-book for creators: Turn a large archive of newsletter issues (e.g., Substack) into a cohesive nonfiction book that can be sold on Amazon or bundled for subscribers.
Podcast/YouTube repurposing into written IP: Convert spoken episodes into a structured manuscript by automatic transcription and editorial assembly—useful for creators expanding into publishing.
Expert thought leadership book (business/consulting): Consultants, executives, and domain experts can transform talks, articles, and internal docs into a credibility-building book without starting from a blank page.
Memoir and personal essay collections: Assemble life stories, essays, and long-running notes into a narrative with consistent voice and chapter structure for aspiring authors.
Course/content library packaging: Educators and coaches can turn transcripts, lesson notes, and long-form posts into a companion book to support a course or program.
Pros
Strong end-to-end workflow (ingest → restructure → review → export) versus a single chat-based draft.
Designed to preserve author voice through a creative brief and cross-chapter consistency checks.
Editorial-style feedback (Typo) focused on cohesion and flow, not just grammar.
Multiple export formats (PDF/DOCX/ePub) support common self-publishing paths.
Cons
Primarily focused on nonfiction; fiction support is not currently the product’s main focus.
Best results depend on having substantial existing content; users starting from scratch may have less to assemble.
Rewrite limits/pricing can apply (e.g., included rewrites capped, additional full rewrites cost extra).
Beta availability and pricing are limited/subject to change (e.g., early spots, later price increase).
How to Use Prosed
1) Start the Prosed flow: Go to https://tryprosed.com/ and click the main call-to-action (e.g., “Start writing — $47”) to begin the questionnaire/onboarding for your book project.
2) Provide your source content: Share what you already have by pasting a link to your Substack, YouTube, LinkedIn, or podcast. Alternatively, upload/drop in transcripts, notes, or other files. Prosed will pull content from supported sources and transcribe audio/video when needed.
3) Complete the creative brief (voice + intent): Fill in the questionnaire details about your tone/voice, phrases you like or want to avoid, style inspirations, and any brand guidelines so the manuscript matches how you speak and write.
4) Let “The Inkwell” assemble the manuscript: After you submit content and the brief, Prosed’s multi-stage pipeline (“The Inkwell”) restructures your material into a complete, book-shaped manuscript (including connective tissue between ideas) in days.
5) Review the draft in your private portal: Open your project in the Prosed portal and read through the generated chapters in the distraction-free reader.
6) Comment and request revisions: Leave comments directly on chapters/passages and request rewrites where needed. You direct the changes; Prosed revises accordingly.
7) Run “Typo” editorial review: Enable Typo (the built-in AI editorial reviewer) to check grammar, voice consistency, flow, chapter cohesion, and brand alignment. Use the linked notes to jump to exact passages and make targeted improvements.
8) Iterate with included full rewrites: Use the included full-draft rewrites (5 are included in the beta offering) to refine structure and wording across the manuscript. If you need more, request additional full rewrites (priced per rewrite per the site).
9) Export your publish-ready files: When satisfied, export the manuscript in your preferred format: DOCX, PDF (print-ready), or ePub.
10) Publish and distribute: Use the exported files to publish (e.g., upload to Amazon KDP or sell directly to your audience).
