LanguageTool is a free and open-source proofreading software for grammar, style, and spell checking. It supports over 30 languages and can detect errors that a simple spell checker cannot, such as mixing up there/their, no/now etc.
LanguageTool Monthly Traffic Trends
LanguageTool experienced a 11.3% decline in traffic, reaching 6.3M visits in the current period. The acquisition by Learneo in April 2025, while adding it to a robust suite of AI-powered writing tools, did not immediately translate into a traffic boost. The decline may also be influenced by increased competition from tools like Grammarly and ProWritingAid, which offer advanced features and strong market presence.
