Shoot a 360-degree video: Use any camera device like a smartphone to capture the object you want to reconstruct. Place the object in the center and shoot a full 360-degree video around it, ideally moving in a helical pattern while revolving around the central axis.
Import video into DiverseShot: Open the DiverseShot client application. Drag and drop your captured video or sequence of frames into the viewport. This will automatically create a new project and begin the Gaussian Splatting training process.
Monitor and adjust training: Observe the 3D reconstruction effects in real-time as training progresses. Use the tools provided to crop out any unnecessary point clouds or make other adjustments as needed.
Refine results: Perform multiple training iterations and manual adjustments within the project until you achieve satisfactory 3D reconstruction results.
Export .ply file: Once you're happy with the results, use the export function in the DiverseShot client to save the 3D reconstruction as a .ply file format.
Upload to web platform: Upload the exported .ply file to a web-based 3D platform like Spline (spline.design) for final display and further editing. In Spline, you can import the .ply file, apply additional cropping, create animations, and prepare it for interactive web experiences.
