How to Use ChromeAI Gemini Nano
Download Chrome Canary: Get the latest Chrome Canary (nightly build for developers) from the official Chrome website.
Enable Gemini Nano flags: Open chrome://flags in Chrome Canary. Search for and enable the flags 'prompt-api-for-gemini-nano' and 'optimisation-guide-on-device-model'. Select 'Enabled BypassPerfRequirement' for the prompt API flag.
Restart Chrome Canary: Close and reopen Chrome Canary for the changes to take effect.
Download the Gemini Nano model: Go to chrome://components and look for 'Optimisation Guide On Device Model'. Click 'Check for update' to download the Gemini Nano model (about 2GB in size).
Visit a compatible web app: Navigate to a web app that supports Gemini Nano, such as chromeai.pages.dev or chromeai.org.
Test offline functionality: Optionally, disconnect your internet to verify that Gemini Nano is running locally.
Interact with Gemini Nano: Use the web app's interface to send messages or queries to Gemini Nano and receive AI-generated responses.
