View history trafficWhat is Solver
Solver represents the next generation of AI programming, offering a revolutionary approach to software development through autonomous coding capabilities. Developed by the team behind Siri and Viv, it serves as a powerful force multiplier that enables developers to offload time-consuming and tedious programming tasks. Unlike traditional coding assistants that focus on code completion, Solver provides high-level automation that can handle complex software development tasks with minimal human supervision.
Key Features of Solver
Solver is an advanced AI-powered engineering API that enables autonomous software development by allowing developers to offload time-consuming and tedious programming tasks. Built by the team behind Siri and Viv, it uses repository-based reasoning and proprietary TOTAL-HUNK models to integrate with existing IDEs, providing elastic coding capabilities that scale to meet any project's demands without requiring proportional increases in human effort.
Repository-Based Reasoning: First-of-its-kind technology that allows the AI to understand and work directly with Git repositories, ensuring context-aware code generation
Easy Everywhere API Integration: Seamlessly integrates with existing IDEs and development workflows, requiring no new platform adoption or learning curve
Autonomous Code Generation: Level 4 automation capability that can write and implement code with minimal human supervision, going beyond simple code completion
Credit-Based System: Flexible pricing model where credits serve as currency for completing tasks, with most small-to-medium tasks using 5-10 credits
Use Cases of Solver
Software Development Automation: Automates repetitive coding tasks and generates code solutions for complex programming challenges
Enterprise Development Scaling: Helps development teams scale their coding capacity without proportionally increasing headcount or effort
Code Optimization: Analyzes and improves existing codebases using advanced AI models and repository-based understanding
Pros
Built by experienced team behind Siri and Viv with proven track record
No new platform adoption required - works with existing tools
Highly scalable solution for development teams
Cons
Credit-based system may require careful monitoring of usage
May require initial investment to set up and integrate effectively
How to Use Solver
Enable Solver Add-in: Go to Excel Options > Add-ins > Manage Excel Add-ins > Check 'Solver Add-in' box > OK. This will add Solver to your Data tab.
Set up your spreadsheet model: Create your spreadsheet with the decision variables, constraints, and objective function you want to optimize.
Open Solver Parameters dialog: Click the Solver button in the Analysis group on the Data tab to open the Solver Parameters dialog box.
Set Objective Cell: Select the cell containing the formula you want to maximize or minimize (your objective function).
Choose Max/Min/Value: Select whether you want to maximize or minimize the objective cell, or set it to a specific value.
Select Variable Cells: Choose the cells that Solver can change to optimize your objective (the decision variables).
Add Constraints: Click 'Add' to define constraints that limit the values Solver can use. Enter cell references and conditions.
Select Solving Method: Choose the appropriate solving method - GRG Nonlinear for smooth nonlinear problems, Simplex LP for linear problems, or Evolutionary for non-smooth problems.
Solve the Problem: Click 'Solve' button and Solver will attempt to find optimal values that satisfy all constraints.
Review Results: When Solver finds a solution, review the results and click 'Keep Solver Solution' if satisfied, or 'Restore Original Values' to try again.
