Install GPT Subtitler: Install GPT Subtitler using pip: pip install gptsubtitler
Install FFmpeg: Install FFmpeg, which is required. Use the appropriate command for your operating system:
- Ubuntu/Debian: sudo apt update && sudo apt install ffmpeg
- MacOS: brew install ffmpeg
- Windows: choco install ffmpeg
Prepare your video file: Have the video file you want to add subtitles to ready
Run GPT Subtitler: Use the command line to run GPT Subtitler on your video file. For example, to translate subtitles from English to Romanian:
gptsubtitler your_video.mp4 --source_language en --target_language ro --captioning_model_type medium --language_model_type base
Wait for processing: GPT Subtitler will process your video, generate subtitles, and translate them. This may take some time depending on the length of your video and the processing power of your computer.
Review output: Once processing is complete, check the output subtitle file (default is 'output.srt') to ensure the translations are accurate and properly timed.
