Developed by Israeli AI company Decart in collaboration with Etched, Oasis represents a breakthrough in AI-generated interactive experiences. Launched after securing $21 million in funding from Sequoia Capital and Oren Zeev, Oasis is a demonstration of how AI can generate real-time gameplay without relying on traditional game engines. The system creates a Minecraft-like environment where users can move around, jump, pick up items, break blocks, and interact with the generated world in real-time at 20 frames per second.
How does Oasis Decart AI work?
Oasis operates through 'next-frame prediction' technology, utilizing diffusion transformer models trained on millions of hours of Minecraft gameplay footage. The system takes user keyboard and mouse inputs and generates corresponding gameplay frames in real-time, internally simulating physics, game rules, and graphics. Using Decart's inference engine and optimization techniques, the model achieves a 47ms inference time per frame, making real-time interaction possible. The system is specifically optimized for Sohu, an upcoming Transformer ASIC developed by Etched, which aims to make the model even faster and more cost-efficient at scale.
Benefits of Oasis Decart AI
Oasis demonstrates the potential for AI to revolutionize game development and interactive content creation by eliminating the need for traditional game engines and coded rules. This technology opens up possibilities for creating dynamic, AI-generated worlds that can be modified in real-time based on user input. It represents a significant step toward developing foundational models that can simulate increasingly complex interactive worlds, potentially transforming how future games and interactive experiences are created and experienced.
Oasis Decart AI Monthly Traffic Trends
Oasis Decart AI experienced a significant decline of 59.2% in traffic, with 836K visits in the current month. Despite its initial popularity and positive community feedback, the hardware limitations and short gameplay sessions of the current demo may have deterred users. Additionally, concerns over copyright issues and the lack of a clear roadmap for addressing these limitations might have contributed to the drop in interest.
