Download and Install: Download the Backyard Desktop App on your Mac or PC. You can also access via mobile by downloading from Google Play Store or iOS App Store.
Run the Desktop App: Leave the Faraday Desktop App running in the background on your computer. This allows you to run models locally on your own hardware.
Choose a Character: Browse and select from thousands of AI characters in the Character Hub. You can chat with custom AI characters for free.
Customize the Experience: Use features like Lorebooks to add context and history, Author's Notes to set the scene, and Grammars to customize how characters respond. You can also adjust model parameters for fine-grained control.
Start Chatting: Begin conversing with your chosen AI character. The model will generate responses based on the character's personality and your customizations.
Optional: Upgrade to Cloud: For access to more powerful models like Magnum 72B & Midnight-Rose 70B, faster speeds up to 80 tokens/second, and 30k context tokens, consider subscribing to Backyard Cloud plans starting at $7/month.
