prg.ai is an ambitious initiative founded in 2019 by academics from the Czech Technical University, Charles University, and the Czech Academy of Sciences, with support from the City of Prague. Its mission is to establish Prague as a leading center for artificial intelligence in Europe within five years. The initiative aims to attract global researchers, expand the base of Czech AI talent, and facilitate the creation of new technology companies. prg.ai works to develop a thriving AI ecosystem in Prague by connecting academia, industry, and the public sector.
How does prg.ai work?
prg.ai operates through several key programs and activities. It coordinates the unique inter-university program prg.ai Minor, which combines courses from four faculties of CTU and Charles University to provide students with comprehensive AI education. The initiative also organizes networking events, workshops, and the annual AI Days conference to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing. prg.ai maps and supports the local AI scene, connecting over 130 companies, 55 research groups, and various educational institutions. Additionally, it partners with international AI centers in the EU, Switzerland, Israel, and North America to integrate Prague into global AI networks. The initiative also focuses on public education, offering free online courses like Elements of AI in Czech.
