Download and Install LM Studio: Visit the LM Studio website (lm-studio.me) and download the version compatible with your operating system (Mac, Windows, or Linux). Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Launch LM Studio: Open the LM Studio application on your computer after installation is complete.
Browse or Search for Models: On the home screen, explore featured models or use the search bar to find specific AI models you want to use.
Download a Model: Select a model compatible with your system (LM Studio provides compatibility estimates) and click to download it.
Load the Model: Once downloaded, go to the 'Chat' section (chat bubble icon on the left). Use the dropdown menu at the top to select and load your downloaded model.
Configure Settings (Optional): Adjust settings like GPU acceleration if desired. For Macs, you can enable 'Apple Metal GPU' for better performance.
Start Chatting: With the model loaded, you can now start interacting with it by typing messages in the chat interface.
Use Additional Features (Optional): Explore other features like the 'Playground' mode to run multiple models simultaneously, or use the local server option for API access.
