Deploy Proteus in warehouse: Initially deploy Proteus robots in the outbound GoCart handling areas of Amazon's fulfillment and sort centers.
Allow Proteus to navigate autonomously: Proteus uses advanced safety, perception, and navigation technology to move autonomously through the facility, avoiding obstacles and employees.
Locate GoCart: Proteus locates a GoCart (package-carrying cart) that needs to be moved.
Slide under GoCart: Proteus performs a small 'S' curve to position itself, then moves straight to slide under the GoCart.
Lift GoCart: Once positioned underneath, Proteus lifts the GoCart.
Transport GoCart: Proteus transports the lifted GoCart to its designated location in the warehouse.
Avoid obstacles: While moving, Proteus uses its sensors to detect obstacles or people. If someone steps in its path, it stops and waits for them to move before continuing.
Drop off GoCart: Upon reaching the destination, Proteus lowers and releases the GoCart.
Repeat process: Proteus continues this cycle autonomously, moving GoCarts as needed throughout the facility.
